Tobin Elected to American Association of Community Colleges Board of Directors

Walt Tobin

Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College President Dr. Walt Tobin has been elected to the American Association of Community Colleges Board of Directors.

He was elected to the post in February and began his three-year term July 1.

The AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges. The association represents more than 1,000 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions and nearly 12 million students. The Board of Directors acts on behalf of the institutional members to create and maintain a vision for AACC, and to determine and ensure that the organization adheres to appropriate standards of performance.

“I’m humbled to be selected by my colleagues representing two-year colleges across the country, excited to serve on the board, and looking forward to representing South Carolina and rural colleges nationally,” Tobin said.
