Dr. Tim Hardee, president of the South Carolina Technical College System, will be keynote speaker at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s spring graduation.
The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center on the campus of South Carolina State University.
Prior to becoming System president in November 2016, Hardee served as president of Central Carolina Technical College and has more than 30 years of experience in education throughout South Carolina. Before entering higher education administration, he served as a teacher, coach, counselor and principal on the K-12 level.
Hardee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Coastal Carolina University, and a master’s in counselor education and doctorate in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of Leadership South Carolina and the South Carolina Economic Developers Program. Hardee is a recipient of the Coastal Carolina University Outstanding Alumni Award and the Sumter Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Achievement Award.
Hundreds of students will receive an associate’s degree, diploma and/or certificate in advanced manufacturing, nursing and health science, computer technology, business, education, criminal justice and other OCtech programs-old-old-old-old of study at the ceremony.
