Co-chairs for this year’s signature fundraising event are Alan and Jeannie Andrews and Leslie and Tipsy Holleman.

“Alan and I are honored to serve on the committee this year,” Jeannie Andrews said. “I have always considered this to be one of the premier worthwhile events in Orangeburg. The combination of fine wine, good food and community-minded people make it a success.”

Participating wine and beer vendors are Advintage Wine Distributing, Ben Arnold Beverage Co., Orangeburg Distributors, Republic National Distributing Co. and Southern Wine & Spirits of S.C. Food vendors include Aberdeen Catering, All Star Deli, Blaz n Buz Catering Co., Cakes by Deborah Salley Cook, Cakes by Joann Zeigler, Catering for All Occasions, Chestnut Grill, Coco’s Donuts & Specialty Shop, Common Ground Café, Eatery at the Depot, Edisto River Creamery, Fit Street Deli & Hibachi, Fratellos Italian Tavern, GiaBella’s Sweet Shoppe, Golden Kernel Pecan Co., House of Pizza, Roy Dickson at The Oaks, Sugah Wougie’s Chicken & Waffles, Thai Orchid, Thee Matriarch Bed & Breakfast and Unique Flavor Soul Food Restaurant.

“We have had such great support in sponsorships and food and wine vendors, and such strong leadership on our committees,” Tipsy Holleman said. “Our community is so fortunate to have such a great technical college here in Orangeburg. I look forward to seeing friends and business associates at this year’s An Evening of Fine Wines and Foods.”

Not to be missed will be the evening’s silent auction, which will feature dozens of items including bottles of wine, wine-related gifts, exclusive hunting trips, golf excursions, portrait sittings, fine jewelry, home décor and gift certificates, among other exceptional items.

“I have been truly overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity of our local community,” said Martha Burleson, who – with her husband Matt Burleson – is chairing the auction portion of the event. “Business owners have actually thanked me numerous times for asking for their help, and others have volunteered to donate without anyone even asking. One thing is obvious to me – the local community truly appreciates and wants to support OCtech, and everyone loves attending An Evening of Fine Wines and Foods.”

Auction items can be previewed at www.octech.edu by clicking on the “Fine Wines & Foods” button on the homepage and choosing the “Silent Auction” link.

Wine will also be available for purchase at the event through Gibby’s Bottle Shop. Gibby’s will donate 10 percent of proceeds from wine ordered that evening to the OCtech Foundation. Individuals ordering 12 or more bottles of wine will receive a 10 percent discount on their purchase.

Tickets to An Evening of Fine Wines and Foods are $75 per person. Funds raised at the event go to support OCtech student scholarships, faculty and staff professional development, and projects requested by the college. For tickets, call Melissa Pearson at 803-535-1246 or visit www.octech.edu.
