Members of the first graduating class of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s Associate Degree Nursing Flex program were pinned during a ceremony Thursday, Dec. 17, on campus in Roquemore Auditorium.

Four students have successfully completed the condensed version of the school’s prestigious ADN program designed to help licensed practical nurses transition into the role of a registered nurse, Flex Nursing Programs Coordinator Candance Tooley said.

“Chris Giles, Ivory Thomas, Ginny Walling and Krista Williamson have demonstrated the desire to learn and the dedication to meet the demanding curriculum of the ADN Flex option,” Tooley said.

Williamson received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award during the ceremony.

“OCtech’s ADN Flex is based on a unique model that provides a solid foundation for nursing practice and supports a path for seamless academic progression toward a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing,” Tooley said. “With this program, these nurses are greeted with full support during a time of change and learning.”

The ADN Flex program meets two days a week – once for class and once for clinical – and is supplemented with online components. The program runs from January to December.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Class of 2017. For more information, contact Tooley at tooleyc@octech.edu or 803-535-1340.
