Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s Automotive Technology program has been reaccredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
OCtech’s program continues to meet the requirements for Master Automobile Service Technology accreditation, the highest level of program accreditation recognized by the ASE, according to Michael Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation.
“The explosion in automotive technology makes OCtech’s high-quality automotive training program more valuable than ever,” he said. “We commend the college and its staff for maintaining the program’s standards, and continuing to meet the industry’s requirements.”
OCtech’s Automotive Technology program is accredited through March 1, 2024.
Since 1972, the ASE has worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals. The ASE Education Foundation – comprised of the former National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) – supports students through their education to become ASE-certified professionals.
