It’s now easier and more convenient than ever for busy individuals to become an elementary school teacher.

Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and Palmetto College, the University of South Carolina’s online bachelor’s degree completion program, have entered into an agreement allowing for the seamless transfer of credits earned through OCtech’s Teacher Education Transfer program in Elementary Education to the online Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program at USC.

“This is just one more opportunity for individuals in all stages of life to start their journey to becoming a teacher at OCtech and complete their degrees without leaving their communities,” said Donna Elmore, Vice President for Academic Affairs at OCtech. “We are excited to share this flexible, online option with our students.”

OCtech also offers transfer options in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Middle Level/Secondary Education to USC’s Main Campus, South Carolina State University and Claflin University.

An information session exploring the college’s Teacher Education Transfer programs-old-old-old-old will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, in Room 401 in Building F on the OCtech campus. Guests are asked to park in the lot behind Building R and follow the signs. University Transfer representatives from partner colleges will be on hand to talk with interested individuals about becoming a teacher.
