Learn about the benefits, strategies and best practices for developing, implementing and sustaining successful apprenticeship and youth apprenticeship programs-old-old-old-old at your business during Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s Apprenticeship Summit.
The summit, open to all local and regional businesses and industries, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 21, at the College.
“As OCtech – a partner in the economic development of Orangeburg and Calhoun counties – plans for the future of the region, we must consider alternative pathways for students to pursue a quality education,” President Dr. Walt Tobin said. “We must also broaden the pipeline that allows younger adults to pursue their careers at an earlier age.
“The apprenticeship and youth apprenticeship models are two opportunities that allow the college to support job creation and career advancement in a unique way. Our goals for this summit are to create an awareness of the benefits of an apprenticeship, and to connect our local businesses and industries with the tools and resources to get a program established.”
