OCtech Honors ADN Class of 2020 During Virtual Pinning Ceremony

The Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Associate Degree Nursing program held a virtual pinning ceremony for its traditional and transition ADN Class of 2020 on Monday, June 1.

During the ceremony, 36 registered nursing graduates were pinned by loved ones via Zoom. Keynote speaker was Pat Macaruso, retiring ADN program coordinator and longtime nursing instructor at the college.

Honored for outstanding academic achievement were Lori Cox, who earned the highest GPA in the traditional class, and Megan Mizell, who earned the highest GPA in the transition class. Other special honors bestowed during the ceremony were Kristan Lowery, Leadership Award; Jessica Hardison and Shauntae Rogers, Clinical Excellence Award; and Deon James and Teresa Amick-Ballard, Best All-Around Student Award. James also received the Delura R. Knight Spirit of Nursing Award.

Seniors who served as officers or delegates in the OCtech Student Nurses Association were recognized for their contributions.

Members of the 2020 traditional ADN class are Anna Beason, Danyale Boyd, Adrienne Brayford, Crystal Broughton, Crystal Brown, Lindsey Burnside, Angelica Chavez, Lori Cox, Jessica Hardison, Kayla Hill, Taylor Holder, Kyahra Hubbard, Deon James, Courtenay Jamison, Connor Kays, AuMariyah Lee, Kristan Lowery, Caroline Murray, Stacy Palmieri, Hannah Rutland, Kayla Shealy, Kayla Smoak, Charmaine Teasdale and De’Quanjah Wade.

Members of the 2020 transition ADN class are Torrey Adams, Teresa Amick-Ballard, Destiny Chamblin, Ebony Guess, Alison Huffstetler, Kristina Johnson, Kimberlin McGugan, Megan   Mizell, Alicia Oliver, Mindy Priester, Shauntae Rogers and Donah Wooten.
