Four lucky winners will leave the Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Foundation’s Evening of Fine Wines and Foods with a fabulous prize.
This year’s signature fundraising event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, in the Patrick Student Services Building on the campus of OCtech.
In lieu of a silent auction, An Evening of Fine Wines and Foods will feature Golden Ticket drawings for a $1,500 gift card for a Kiawah Island Golf Resort getaway, a state-of-the-art stainless steel TEC Infrared Grill by Thermal Engineering Corporation, a Husqvarna lawn tractor, and a beautiful coffee table from Marty Rae’s of Lexington with a $1,000 Visa gift card.
Golden Tickets are $50 each, and individuals select which prize they would like a chance at winning. Those who purchase a Golden Ticket will receive a special accessory to wear during the event. Drawings will be at 8:30 p.m.
A Wine Pull will also be held, featuring dozens of wines donated by Foundation board members and friends. For $20, guests can select a gold-wrapped bottle from the wine wall.
“We’re excited about these additions to our Evening of Fine Wines and Foods and grateful to our generous donors who have made them possible,” said Faith McCurry, executive director of the Foundation. “While several changes have been made to this year’s event, including a new weekday and a different venue, the cause remains the same – to raise money for student scholarships and other valuable work of the OCtech Foundation. We couldn’t do all that we do for our campus community without the Foundation’s dedicated volunteers and the community’s tremendous support.”
Participating wine and beer vendors are Advintage Wine Distributing, Breakthru Beverage, The Country Vintner of SC, MidCarolina Beverage LLC, Republic National Distributing Company and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. Food vendors include A Gracious Affair, Antley’s, Cakes by Joann Zeigler, Calhoun Cookers LLC, Catering for All Occasions, Chestnut Grill, Dupre Catering and Events, Fogle’s Piggly Wiggly, Golden Kernel Pecan Company, House of Pizza on Sims Street, The Kuckery, The Rotonda of Santee, Thai Orchid, and Thee Matriarch Bed and Breakfast.
Wine may be ordered at the event through Gibby’s Bottle Shop. Gibby’s will donate 10 percent of proceeds from wine ordered that evening to the OCtech Foundation. Individuals ordering 12 or more bottles of wine will receive a 10 percent discount on their purchase.
