This course prepares students to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), providing the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to deliver life-saving care in emergency situations. Aligned with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) guidelines and state of South Carolina requirements, the course covers topics such as patient assessment, airway management, trauma care, medical emergencies, CPR, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Students will participate in classroom instruction, lab simulations, and supervised clinical experiences in pre-hospital and hospital settings. Emphasis is placed on rapid decision-making, effective communication, and professionalism in high-pressure environments.
