This course provides a comprehensive study of the principles and practices of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize cardiac and respiratory emergencies and to respond effectively using CPR techniques. Emphasis is placed on proper procedures for performing CPR on adults, children, and infants, as well as the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The course also includes instruction on basic first aid, airway management, and the legal and ethical considerations of providing emergency care. Upon successful completion, students may earn certification in CPR and AED use in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
