OCtech Plans Free Eclipse Information Sessions

On Monday, Aug. 21, portions of the United States from Oregon to South Carolina – including much of Orangeburg and Calhoun counties – will experience a total eclipse.

Do you know why? Do you know when? Do you know how to safely view it? Learn all of that and more during Eclipse 101, a series of free information sessions at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.

Sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19; Thursday, July 27; Monday, July 31; and Thursday, Aug. 3, on campus in Building R. The sessions are all the same, so there is no need to attend more than one.

The first 50 people at each session will receive a free pair of eclipse shades designed to safely watch the event. Optional solar viewing will be held prior to each session from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on the grounds outside of Building R.
