The Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Foundation has received a $10,000 gift from Cypress Creek Renewables for student scholarships. From left are OCtech Foundation Chair Donna Matthews, Cypress Creek Renewables Project Developer Ben Manuel and OCtech Foundation Executive Director Faith McCurry. Cypress Creek Renewables developed Palmetto Plains, South Carolina’s largest solar farm, in Bowman. The OCtech Foundation will begin awarding the scholarship to OCtech students from the Bowman area or graduates of Bowman-Bethune High School – with a preference given to those majoring in engineering technology programs-old-old-old-old at the college – in the fall.
