This course provides the basic knowledge and skills required for individuals seeking entry-level employment as a CNC (computer numerical control) machine operator in a machine shop or manufacturing facility. The course includes the theoretical and practical aspects of writing manual numerical control programs. Included is coding formats, preparatory functions, miscellaneous functions, and point-to-point and continuous path programming with emphasis on developing programs for three axis machine tools. This course prepares the student for practical programming assignments and is designed to give actual hands-on experience in the setting up and operation of CNC machining and turning centers.
Scholarships are available for qualified applicants.
